Wirral Leisure Website
Wirral Leisure needed a new website to sit alongside there new branding. The site needed to contain the full offering of the leisure facilities it was advertising.
Each leisure facility needed its own section and each leisure activity needed its own offering too. The page layouts needed to be consistent to help with navigation and continuity so a grid system was adopted. The information was split up into sections and displayed in a grid employing different background colours to lead the eye. On smaller screens the grid system would simply collapse to create a longer page.
An infinite scrolling approach was used as opposed to having to navigate using buttons instead as research suggests usability on mobile screens is improved by reducing the use of buttons and employing an intuitive scrolling approach. Mobile users respond better to this solution and make up more than 50% internet access.
The new branding lent itself to creating animated hero sections at the top of the main pages to give the information heavy pages interest and also to initiate navigation around the site.
