Designing layouts and graphics because you have an idea you want to explore is a whole different kettle of fish. Having an idea and seeing where it takes you is really what design is all about.
As a graphic designer who got into web design somewhere down the line I love experimenting with layout and graphics, keeping in mind what works well across a variety of different size and resolution screen when its transferred onto the web.
Consideration for the visitors journey and how you want to help them navigate the site should be forefront in your mind, coupled with beautiful graphics together making a memorable experience.
